Angelena's Ristorante Italiano will join restaurants across the country in celebrating National Prosecco Week from June 15 to 21 with a specialty tasting experience highlighting the traditions, flavors and regional heritage of Italy’s signature sparkling wine.

As part of the nationwide observance, Angelena’s will offer a Prosecco tasting flight featuring six distinct Prosecco selections paired with Italian-inspired shareable snacks created by Executive Chef Ian Gillette. The tasting experience will be available for $25 during the weeklong promotion.

According to restaurant officials, the curated flight is designed to showcase the diversity and versatility of Prosecco, from crisp brut styles to softer fruit-forward varieties.

“We wanted to create an experience that’s festive and approachable,” said Matt Nichols, the restaurant’s wine expert. “The Prosecco selections offer a range of styles and the snacks are all about bringing people together — just like a great glass of bubbles should.”

National Prosecco Week is organized in partnership with the Prosecco DOC Consortium and celebrates the Italian sparkling wine known for its bright acidity, approachable character and regional identity.

To qualify as Prosecco, the wine must be produced primarily from the Glera grape in designated regions of northeastern Italy, primarily Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia.

Restaurant officials noted that the featured selections will include authentic DOC and DOCG Proseccos, classifications that indicate the wines meet strict Italian production and geographic standards.

DOC, or Denominazione di Origine Controllata, certifies that a wine comes from a protected geographic area and follows traditional production guidelines. DOCG wines represent an even higher designation with stricter standards and vineyard requirements.

Angelena’s participation in National Prosecco Week reflects the restaurant’s broader focus on Italian culinary traditions and wine education, according to organizers.

Reservations are encouraged and may be made through Angelena's Ristorante Italiano or by calling 850-542-8398.
