The spirit of service and song will come together at the second annual Veterans Unplugged, hosted by Casino Beach Bar, at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 21. The celebration of military veterans will feature live music, food and ocean views.
Among the featured performers is Justin Touchette, who served 12 years in the Air Force and Army with deployments to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iraq and Afghanistan. Known as “Peg,” he discovered his passion for music while in the military and taught himself to play the drums. He performed with various bands, including a church band in Afghanistan.
After a medical retirement, he turned to songwriting as a form of healing and crafted more than 50 songs that reflect the pain, endurance and emotion of his journey.
Tickets are $35 and include a CBB travel mug, which comes with a free drink and $10 refills all year at Casino Beach Bar. Rock4Vets, a charity supporting veterans, will receive $5 from every ticket.
Tickets are available on Eventbrite. The event will be at Casino Beach Bar & Grille, 41 Fort Pickens Road, Pensacola Beach.
