The unmistakable roar of jet engines and awesome precision of aerobatics are returning to the skies over Pensacola as the U.S. Navy’s world-famous Blue Angels conduct spring practice, visible from vantage points around the city.

The National Naval Aviation Museum is opening its flight line viewing area for Blue Angels practices. Gates open at 9:30 a.m., with the squadron expected to fly at 10:30 sharp. Once the museum’s parking lot is full, access to Naval Air Station Pensacola will be paused to manage traffic flow.

“We are proud to host fans from across the country to experience the power and precision of the Blue Angels in their hometown,” a museum spokesman said. “It’s not just a show; it’s an unforgettable celebration of naval aviation excellence.”

Select practice days include autograph sessions with the Blue Angels in the museum’s atrium.

Practice Schedule (subject to change without notice):

April: 8, 9*, 15, 16*, 22, 23*, 29, 30

May: 6, 7*, 13, 14*, 27, 28*

*Autograph days

If you can’t make it onto the base, off-base viewing spots include Fort Pickens, Perdido Key, the Pensacola Beach Boardwalk and scenic boat tours.

The Blue Angels, officially known as the U.S. Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, have dazzled audiences since 1946 with their elite flying skills and choreography. The Pensacola-based team trains at NAS Pensacola, which also houses the National Naval Aviation Museum — home to more than 150 meticulously restored aircraft and exhibits celebrating the history and heroes of naval aviation.

Admission to the museum and access to the flight line viewing area are free. Pro tip: Bring sunscreen, ear protection and a camera.
