The 11th annual Flora-Bama Fishing Rodeo offers anglers of all skill levels the chance to compete in what organizers call the “funnest” fishing tournament on the Gulf Coast from June 6 to 8 at the Flora-Bama Ole River Grill beach area, directly across from the Flora-Bama Lounge.

Designed as a fishing tournament for the “everyman” and open to all ages, the Flora-Bama Fishing Rodeo provides 30 categories, from catfish to billfish to spearfishing. Popular categories include red snapper. Informal contests may be held throughout the weekend, such as the largest crab.

The tournament follows a three-day Captain’s Choice format, allowing participants to fish on one or more days. Prizes will be awarded for the top three places in each category, with winners receiving top-of-the-line prizes.

In addition to the fishing competition, the rodeo presents a three-day beach party and an awards ceremony. The festivities include daily weigh-ins with a public fish viewing area, live music, vendor booths, and food and beverage options, all presented in Flora-Bama style.
