One of Pensacola’s most creative and energetic race events, the Graffiti Bridge 5K Run/Walk, returns Saturday, May 24, with a blend of fitness, fun and artistic flair.
Beginning and ending at the world-famous Graffiti Bridge, the race celebrates Pensacola’s vibrant culture. The course is appropriate for runners and walkers of all levels, with a festive atmosphere that reflects the spirit of the East Hill neighborhood. Every finisher receives a collector’s medal.
A standout feature of the event is the chance to paint the Graffiti Bridge before the race. The street is closed from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. to provide access to tag the bridge, uninterrupted unless a train comes through. Organizers encourage participants to #BYOPaint (bring your own paint) to leave a mark on an iconic piece of public art.
Race registration is $35 through May 10, $45 from May 11 to 17, and $50 starting May 18. Register at runpensacola.com/event/graffiti-bridge-5k.
Race packets can be picked up May 23 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Running Wild Pensacola or May 24 from 6:15 to 7 a.m. at the race start line on 17th Avenue.
The race begins promptly at 7:30 a.m. Participants are advised to arrive early, especially if they plan to paint the bridge.
A post-race party and awards ceremony at Miraflores Park at 17th Avenue and LaRua Street offers music, refreshments and community camaraderie in a relaxed, family-friendly environment.
Parking is available along all side streets in the East Hill area, but participants are reminded not to block driveways and to avoid business lots.
