Mother’s Day will take on a distinctly culinary flair this year as Great Southern Restaurants invites families to celebrate on Sunday, May 10, with special menus and chef-driven features across its four signature dining destinations.
Each restaurant—The Fish House, Jackson’s Steakhouse, Five Sisters’ Blues Café and Angelena’s Ristorante Italiano—will be open for service, offering their standard menus alongside exclusive dishes created for the occasion by Executive Chefs Irv Miller, Jeremiah Taylor, Jason Hughes, Ian Gillette and Josh Rich.
At The Fish House, Mother’s Day begins with brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., followed by dinner service starting at 3 p.m. Guests can enjoy staples such as the restaurant’s signature Grits à Ya Ya, alongside seasonal additions including Chef Jason Hughes’ Salmon Mimosa Benedict—featuring seared salmon, poached eggs and citrus champagne hollandaise—and a decadent Chocolate Croissant dessert.
Dinner offerings will include a special Gulf snapper entrée served with brie rice grits, roasted vegetables and house-smoked tasso lemon butter.
Jackson’s Steakhouse will serve both lunch and dinner, with lunch available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and dinner beginning at 5 p.m. Known for its refined approach to classic American fare, the restaurant will feature a Mother’s Day Benedict at lunch, crafted with sautéed mushrooms, spinach, bacon and onion, topped with poached eggs and hollandaise. For dinner, guests can enjoy a seafood and vegetable risotto highlighting shrimp, jumbo lump crab and seasonal produce, complemented by Jackson’s award-winning wine program.
At Five Sisters’ Blues Café, Mother’s Day will be celebrated with its signature Sunday Jazz Brunch from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., complete with live jazz performances throughout the day. Chef Josh Rich will offer a special grilled salmon entrée served with roasted broccoli and lemon butter rice grits, along with a classic dessert, Momma’s Apple Pie with homemade caramel sauce. These features will also be available during lunch and dinner service on May 8 and 9.
Angelena’s Ristorante Italiano will open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., offering its standard dinner menu alongside three special features from Chef Ian Gillette. Highlights include Lobster Ravioli with basil cream and Calabrian tomato jam, Battered Brioche French Toast with mascarpone and blueberry thyme compote, and a savory Steak and Eggs with Italian salsa verde.
Together, the four restaurants present a diverse range of dining experiences—from waterfront brunch to upscale steakhouse fare and Italian-inspired cuisine—designed to make Mother’s Day both memorable and accessible for families throughout the region.
