Lemonade Stand Bootcamp is expanding its efforts to equip young people with financial literacy, entrepreneurship and leadership skills through hands-on educational programs designed to prepare students for long-term personal and professional success.
The Pensacola-based nonprofit focuses on helping youth develop practical business and money-management skills through interactive workshops, entrepreneurial training and community-based learning experiences.
Built around the concept that financial education should begin early, Lemonade Stand Bootcamp introduces students to subjects such as budgeting, branding, pricing, customer service and business development while also emphasizing confidence-building and personal leadership.
“Our goal is to shift the way young people think about money, opportunity and their future,” said Katrice Johnson, founder of Lemonade Stand Bootcamp. “We’re using the concept of a lemonade stand to help youth understand business, financial responsibility and their potential as future leaders. We’re challenging their mindset from consumers to producers.”
Among the organization’s signature initiatives are immersive entrepreneurship bootcamps, the “Know Thyself” self-actualization framework and the LEADERship Program, all designed to promote self-awareness, leadership development and economic confidence.
Organization leaders said the programs are especially focused on serving students and families in under-resourced communities where access to financial literacy education may be limited.
By combining financial education with mentorship and personal development, Lemonade Stand Bootcamp aims to create what organizers describe as a holistic learning experience extending beyond traditional classroom instruction.
The nonprofit’s visibility has continued to grow through partnerships and community programming across Pensacola.
Recently, the organization participated in “Secure the Bag: Financial Literacy for Teens,” an initiative presented by the National Coalition of 100 Black Women Pensacola Chapter and featured in VIP Pensacola. The event focused on budgeting, saving and financial planning skills for high school students.
Members First Credit Union has also partnered with Lemonade Stand Bootcamp to help expand access to financial education opportunities for local youth.
Additional recent initiatives have included programming with S.L. Jones Christian Academy, where the organization taught entrepreneurship and financial literacy concepts to the school’s entire high school population throughout the academic year.
The nonprofit has also participated in the PYP Nonprofit Expo, Spring Break Bootcamp programming and Pensacola’s Gallery Night events, using creative community engagement opportunities to connect with students and families.
As demand for programming continues to increase, organization leaders said Lemonade Stand Bootcamp is seeking additional partnerships with schools, businesses and community organizations interested in supporting youth development and financial empowerment initiatives.
According to organizers, the nonprofit’s long-term mission is to help build a generation of financially capable, entrepreneurial and purpose-driven young leaders through accessible, practical education experiences.
