A blend of Southern tradition, luxury lifestyle and cigar culture will take center stage in downtown Pensacola as The Herf Collective hosts Pensacola Cigar Weekend, a three-day Derby-themed experience at Museum Plaza, located at 300 S. Tarragona St. The event will bring together cigar enthusiasts for a curated series of gatherings celebrating premium cigars, spirits and community in the heart of the city.
Scheduled for Friday, May 1 through Sunday, May 3, Pensacola Cigar Weekend’s “Derby Edition” aims to merge the heritage of Churchill Downs with the coastal charm of one of Florida’s oldest cities. The ticketed event, priced at $71.21 for general admission weekend access, offers a curated lineup of social mixers, live entertainment and a centerpiece celebration inspired by the famed “Run for the Roses.”
Organizers describe the event as more than a traditional festival, positioning it as a lifestyle experience centered on premium cigars, boutique spirits, fashion and social connection. Attendees can expect live music, DJs and vendor showcases alongside opportunities to engage with cigar enthusiasts from across the region.
The weekend begins Friday evening with a happy hour and social mixer, followed by late-night programming featuring DJ Mike Ice and local vendors. Saturday’s main event opens with early access for VIP guests before general admission begins at 6 p.m., featuring live entertainment from the Starz Band and DJ J5, along with food, drinks and giveaways in a high-energy atmosphere.
Two tiers of access are available, including a VIP Derby Pass that offers exclusive experiences such as private mixers, preferred seating, open bar service and curated cigar selections. VIP programming also includes a Friday gathering at a local cigar social club and a Sunday brunch finale at Cordova Cigars.
General admission ticket holders receive access to the weekend’s core events, including Friday’s social mixer and Saturday’s main celebration, with an emphasis on community, entertainment and exploration of cigar and accessory vendors.
Fashion is expected to play a central role, particularly during Saturday’s main event, where guests are encouraged to embrace Derby-inspired style with bold suits, seersucker, fascinators and fedoras.
Beyond the event itself, organizers are highlighting Pensacola’s historic appeal as part of the experience. The downtown district, which dates back more than four centuries and reflects Spanish, French and British influences, provides a distinctive backdrop for the weekend’s programming.
Visitors are also encouraged to explore nearby attractions, including the Palafox Street, recognized among the nation’s notable streets for its dining and retail offerings, as well as the region’s historic forts and the white sand beaches of the Emerald Coast.
With its mix of cultural heritage, upscale entertainment and coastal setting, Pensacola Cigar Weekend is positioned as a destination event designed to draw both regional visitors and out-of-town guests seeking a distinctive spring getaway.
