Residents and visitors are invited to roll up their sleeves and help preserve one of Pensacola’s most scenic waterfront spaces during the upcoming Bruce Beach Cleanup, taking place on Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m.
Hosted in partnership by Ocean Hour and the City of Pensacola, this monthly community cleanup event aims to protect the environment while fostering civic pride and community involvement. Volunteers will gather at Bruce Beach, located at 601 W. Main Street, just west of downtown, to remove litter and debris from the shoreline and surrounding park area.
Sign-in begins at 8:45 a.m., and cleanup supplies—including gloves, grabbers, and buckets—will be provided. Volunteers of all ages are welcome, but closed-toe shoes are required for safety.
“We’re proud to work alongside Ocean Hour to keep Bruce Beach beautiful,” said a spokesperson for the City of Pensacola Parks and Recreation Department. “This initiative not only helps preserve our natural environment but also builds a sense of community among participants.”
Bruce Beach, with its historic ties and ongoing redevelopment as part of Pensacola’s waterfront revitalization efforts, is becoming a vibrant public gathering space. These cleanup events help ensure it remains a clean, welcoming destination for locals and visitors alike.
Participants are encouraged to bring reusable water bottles and dress appropriately for the weather. Whether you're a seasoned volunteer or new to shoreline cleanups, this is a great opportunity to make a difference in just one hour.
